Dr. Kemp is a 1988 graduate of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Dentistry. He holds two adjunct faculty appointments, the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, and Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry.

He currently serves on the Board of Dentistry for the State of Tennessee. He teaches restorative and cosmetic dentistry at both institutions. He developed Hope Restore - an elective teaching program at UT Memphis where students learn cosmetic dentistry, advanced dental techniques, and practice management skills. He introduced this same program to Meharry where he works with students serving the underserved. Under these programs, students serve those in need while gaining much needed experience in the practice of dentistry.

Dr. Kemp serves as a key opinion leader and educator for many dental companies, testing products, developing procedures, and leading educational initiatives. He is currently on the advisory board for Contemporary Product Solutions and has served as co-editor for their publication for three years.

Dr. Kemp is the founder of Hope Smiles, a nonprofit dental organization that provides care for people in underserved areas in the US, Uganda, China and Haiti. These services are made possible through generous community and private financial support, donated materials and volunteer dental professionals. Hope Smiles has organized many dental serve trips to China, Uganda, Haiti, and local and rural areas throughout Tennessee, Texas, and Washington D.C. In China, Uganda and Haiti, most of the care occurs in orphanages and care centers for very poor and underserved.

A native Middle Tennessean, Dr. Kemp lives in Brentwood with his wife of over 35 years, Rhonda, and their four children – Tyler, Nolan, Peyton and Macy Li. He loves hunting, coaching, photography, and spending time with his family.
